Trinidad

trinidad_braun.jpgHistory of the Trinidad brand

Trinidad cigars are named after the beautiful town of La Santísima Trinidad (The Holy Trinity), built in the 16th century and located on the south coast of Cuba and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Trinidad dates back to 1969 as a Habanos trademark.

Like the Cohiba, it was initially made exclusively for the Cuban leadership and as a gift for foreign diplomats. It was only in 1998 that it was presented to the international public.

Initially, there was only one Trinidad format - the myth-enshrouded Fundadores. Later, towards the end of 2003, three more formats were added - Reyes, Coloniales and Robustos Extra. These three are also "tripa larga, totalmente a mano" - completely handmade long fillers. The Trinidad formats are all unique and, with the exception of the Reyes, do not appear in any other Habanos brand.

Character of the Trinidad cigar

The Trinidads were created in El Laguito, the cigar factory where the Cohibas are also made. They consist of special blends of selected tobacco leaves from the best Vegas Finas de Primera (first quality plantations) of the Vuelta Abajo region and are known for their variety of classic flavours. The predominant impression is floral, herbal notes, a faint honey sweetness and a mild tobacco taste. The aromas are complex and very well balanced.
