History of the brand
Rafael Gonzalez

The brand Flor de Rafael Gonzalez was founded in the 20s of the 20th century.

This brand originates from a cigar 165 mm long and 16.67 mm in diameter with the production name Cervante. It was the first to be named Lonsdale, after Lord Lonsdale, a sporting count from England who was a famous cigar lover of the time. Nowadays, many other Habanos brands also use the name of this format.

On the lid of each box there is a strange English inscription stating that the cigars should be smoked within one month of being shipped from Havana. Otherwise, they should be carefully matured for a period of one year.

Character of the Rafael Gonzalez cigar

Light tobacco blends from the Vuelta Abajo region characterise the aromas and taste of Flor de Rafael Gonzalez cigars. All formats are produced using the 'totalmente a mano, tripa larga' technique - completely handmade long fillers, except one which is 'totalmente a mano, tripa corta' - a completely handmade short filler.
